State
of Minnesota
Selects Davidson-Peterson Associates
for Economic Impact Research
(Kennebunk,
ME): The State of Minnesota has
selected Davidson-Peterson Associates (DPA) to estimate the
economic impact of tourism on the state, as well as to provide a
profile of travelers. Currently,
the State has contracted for a single four-season study that
straddles the 2005 and 2006 calendar years.
It is likely that Davidson-Peterson
Associates will
repeat this program during 2007 and again in 2009.
The Minnesota
contract further strengthens DPA’s position in the market for
economic impact evaluation within the travel/tourism industry.
DPA is the
travel and tourism division of Digital Research, Inc. (DRI), a
full-service
marketing research firm located in Kennebunk, Maine.
DRI president Bob Domine says: “We’re excited to extend
our tourism research services further across the northern
Midwest by adding the state of
Minnesota
to the work we’re already doing for
Wisconsin
and Michigan.”
DPA has
conducted similar studies for tourism offices across the
country. Current
economic impact clients on DPA’s roster include the state of
Wisconsin
, the Civil War Preservation Trust, the Northern New York State
Convention and Visitors Bureau,
Glynn
County
GA
, and the City of Birmingham AL.
Davidson-Peterson
Associates has been providing direction in travel and tourism
since 1974. The
nationally known company has conducted travel-related research
in 47 of
the 50 states and has worked directly for the tourism
offices of 34 states. DPA’s
